Moleskine Madness...Sticky Wicket!

I would be outdoors doing some sporty activity but, unfortunately it's raining.
The old cricket bat will have to stay in the garage for now.
Have a fearless Friday!

Moleskine Madness...Magic Dust!

It can fall from the sky, be found in the remnants of an old barn, or sometimes in the eye of that someone special.
You'll know it.
When you see it.
The unmistakable glow with that hint of a passionate spark.
Have a wild Wednesday!

Moleskine Madness...The View!

Look at what is all around you.
It will soon change form into something else.
This isn't a bad thing.
It's just the way of the universe.
Enjoy the view while it lasts!

Moleskine Madness...Dog Tired!

It's that time of the weekend when I realize that the work week will soon be upon me.
This is only because it's the time when the dog usually gets sick and tired of playing with the fuzzy yellow tennis ball.
She wants me to go back to work.
Bad dog.
Have a sexy Sunday!

Saturday, February 22, 2014

Moleskine Madness...Bacon Urge!

I'm going to throw my slab of bacon in the pan and fry it up.
Possibly scramble a few eggs in the process.
Just because I'm that kind of guy.
Have a salivary Saturday!

Moleskine Madness...Perch!

The unexpected friend can suddenly perch in your space without warning.

Moleskine Madness...Block Head!

Floating blocks of cheese are waiting in the dark to ambush the macaroni in your pantry.
The light from an ordinary torch can shed some illumination on these cheddar charmers.
They try to flee but become immediately trapped between two slices of white bread and meet there untimely demise in an unremarkable cast iron skillet lightly smeared with sweet butter.
Have a wanton Wednesday!

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Moleskine Madness...Smiley Juggler!

Okay, it's time to put on that tie and smile.

See you on the freeway!
Have a tickling Tuesday!

Moleskine Madness...Honey Doos!

Yes, it is a day off for President's Day.
Since I am not a president or any type of elected official, I must spend my day doing the chores from the sacred list of things to do. It is a list that has been religiously compiled over many years, like the tome from some monastery during the middle ages. I blow the dust off of it and begin my long dutiful day.
Have a great President's Day!

Moleskine Madness...Out Of the Bottle!

The genie is out of the bottle.
The genie is also handing out small gemstones to those deserving individuals for a job well done.
It's a very complicated relationship so don't dye your hair.
Have a sensible Sunday!

Moleskine Madness...Air Mail!

The mail is testing a genetically engineered biological delivery system.
These laboratory created feathered postal workers are assigned specifically to your mailbox and tied to a small integrated circuit chip that sends out a unique magnetic frequency to alert them when you have mail.
Beat that Amazon!
Have a serene Saturday!

Where they can sit for hours on a branch nude sunbathing.
They never worry about wrinkles or SPF 30 protection.
Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Moleskine Madness...Sheepish Talk!

When the sheep start speaking up, the rabbits take notice.
They realize that what the sheep have to say may be philosophically significant and wholly misunderstood by lesser rodents.
It should also be noted that sheep always speak the truth.
Have a wafting Wednesday!

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Moleskine Madness...Listen Up!

When the little people approach you and whisper in your ear, you better listen.
They don't like to waste their breath on the foolish or insincere.
Especially if they want to share some of that gold.
Have turnkey Tuesday!

Moleskine Madness...Roll of the Dice!

Soupy Sunday...SBIFF Writers Panel!

I had the most wonderful experience yesterday!
I had the time and chance to attend the Santa Barbara Film Festival Writers Panel at the Lobero Theater. As you can see in the photo, it was a full house! The line was around the block. It extended down Anacapa Street!

The energy of the room was electric and the panelists were witty and eloquent. Much of what you would expect from writers. The panelists included: Craig Borten, Bob Nelson, Jeff Pope, John Ridley, Eric Warren Singer, the panel was expertly moderated by Anne Thompson.

All of the panelists were not only passionate about their projects but, also inspired and that energy translated to the audience, of which, at least speaking for myself, had a great time.
Mr. Borten spoke of his latest project 'The Dallas Buyers Club" which concerns the life story of Ron Woodruff and his HIV-AIDS medication smuggling operation. A very important story of human need and the ability to persevere through prejudice. Mr. Nelson was the comedian of the group and kept me and the audience laughing. His film 'Nebraska' is one of the hits of the SBIFF and he was thoroughly enjoying his time here! Mr. Pope, with his British accent, was also funny and at times emotional about his project 'Philomena'. As he related the story of Philomena and her guilt and sadness not of only giving up her child for adoption but, also feeling that she had committed a mortal sin by having a child out of wedlock. I found Mr. Pope's talk of the impact of societal pressure and limitations incredibly powerful and the realization that this type of thinking has hopefully passed from our world in the twenty-first century. John Ridley and his project '12 Years a Slave', was the most emotional of the group and his sensitivity had us eating out of his hands. Mr. Ridley is a truly gifted writer and this appearance here at SBIFF confirmed that for me.  I like to think of myself as an old stoneface but, Mr. Ridley brought a tear to my eye and many in the audience were blatantly in tears. Mr. Singer and his project 'American Hustle' concerning the ABSCAM operation was the most pragmatic of the group and gave us the structure behind his writing process as well as the details of his emotional turmoil during that process. I don't want to forget Ms. Thompson! Her insightful questions kept the panel moving and on their toes.
I would like to thank all the people that make the SBIFF possible. I had great time and I'm inspired to finish that screenplay that I'm currently working on. I have so many more ideas for others!

And...finally! Here is today's soup for the soul on the stove!
Have a soupy Sunday!

Moleskine Madness...Bear and Duck!

Ah! Yes! Here is my animated series idea for this week!
"Bear and Duck" two goofballs that just happen to be
excellent detectives.
Solving puzzling crimes each week while entertaining both the young and old.
Have a fact finding Friday!

Moleskine Madness...Candle Power!

The light of truth comes in many forms.
The ability to see the truth is a gift available even in
the darkness.
One only has to ask.
Light your own candle today.
Have a thankful Thursday!

Moleskine Madness...Soul Cloud!

In time the soul can become cloudy.
It can also release itself from its bonds and
express itself in creativity and wisdom.
From the darkness can come the prescient
thoughts that shape the future and initiate the light.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Moleskine Madness...Mouse Key!

Oh! To be trapped and the key to your escape just
out of reach. This is a torture of extreme cruelty.
Don't be cruel to the one you love.
Have a truculent Tuesday!

Moleskine Madness...Morning Strut!

It's the start of the week and it's time to grab that cup of

Moleskine Madness...Beano!

I've always wondered if Jack had actually ate the magic beans,
would they have made him flatulent?
Would that have created a magic cloud of methane?
Perhaps instead of destroying the ozone layer;
it repaired it.
A very curious fairy tale indeed.
Have a sweet Saturday!
