When the back pain started he was not alone.
Being recently named the official keeper of the sacred chalice, he knew the entire village was with him.
The chalice was his protection from the pain. And the village would always be there in its societal wisdom. He was happy in the thoughts that came and felt the energy of the ritual.
It was now the future of his days.
